Retail eCommerce Website for Sams Beds Reading

Sams beds Reading is a family-run bed business on The Oxford Road Reading looking for a Retail eCommerce Websites Reading company. They were getting a lot of internet inquiries but not from their website, as they did not have one. The inquiries were coming from their google reviews on google maps. The bed shop had over 50 five-star reviews! And the number of positive reviews is increasing to this day.

Design

We Artofdata Website designers Reading were approached by them to create a website for their business. I met with Sam and Mehwish and we decided to create a bright/clean online shop design with lots of white space. Images and photos sell products on websites and we were provided with some beautiful photographs of beds and headboards.

Technology

The website is on the WordPress Platform with Woo Commerce powering the shop. The Yoast SEO plugin has been activated to move the products up the SERPs Search Engine Results Pages.

Content

Sarah our professional journalist provided the content for the pages and
some of the product descriptions. It’s a difficult job providing 300 plus words to describe a bed.

eCommerce

We cross-sell beds with related headboards and mattresses and upsell beds if there is a better bed available. To make the buying process easy (Improve UX user experience) simple Size and Colour swatches have been used. This was achieved using woo Commerce attributes and variations.

Navigation

A retail eCommerce navigation has been used. This is where the main navigation at the top of the page is the product categories that hold the actual products. This enables the buyer to navigate the products easily. The usual top navigation home, about us, customer service navigation, etc have been moved to the footer at the bottom of the page.

Content Management

The new website is fully updatable by the team at Sams Beds they can change the page text and add new product categories and products. We included some training to demonstrate how easy it is to create new content on their new website. We will continue to support Sams Beds Reading and wish good luck in the future.
